SINGING PARAJANOV. GYUMRI

A musical, literary, and visual creation by Michel Petrossian, developed in collaboration with video artist Marc de Pierrefeu and inspired by the world of Sergei Parajanov. The performance brings together the twelve virtuoso singers of the French ensemble Musicatreize, under the direction of conductor Roland Hayrabédian.

The music draws inspiration from Parajanov’s artistic techniques and merges with animated collages that intertwine with the voices of the Musicatreize singers and the composer himself. Titles from Parajanov’s films and letters, alongside texts by Jean-Luc Godard, Federico Fellini, Sayat-Nova, and the composer, sung in Armenian, French, and Italian, accompany this journey as a creative homage to the man who declared: “I shall take my revenge on the world through love.”
